South Carolina Low Country Finest Deer Hunting, Turkey Hunting & Hog Hunting
Collins Lowcountry Hunt Club is second to none in this area of the South Carolina low country. As one of the longest running and most successful operation in the area we continue to stay ahead of the competition by expanding our services and hunting plans to meet everyones expectations. Our hunting opportunity remains the same to all, utilizing all 7,500 acres of our managed lands.
South Carolina Low Country Whitetail Deer Hunts: About our hunting land: You will be hunting on over 7500 acres of land from low country hardwoods to planted pines as well as the edges of farm fields. The most common local crops are soybeans and corn, with a limited amount of peanuts and cotton. Here at CLHC we have three types of deer hunting ground to choose from. We offer open areas ( approximately 3500 acres ) where first timers and new hunters can take one small buck per season( under 12 inches spread ). We also have 15 and 16 inch areas (approximately 4000 acres ) where bucks must meet the specified inch minimum.
About our stands: We have over 150 stands pick to pick from as to not over-hunt any area. This is what we believe makes for interesting sittings and success. All stands are baited with corn and many are located on food plots. The plots are planted with lots of varieties to keep a choice for the deer and turkeys to browse and feed. However, some of our best stands are in the woods on roads and shooting lanes. Most all the stands are large enough to sit two adults comfortably, have roofs, sides, and shooting rails for you to help steady your gun and make that perfect shot and clean kill your animal. Most shots will be 100 to 125 yards, but you can shoot up to 200 yards in some stands.
Low Country Wild Hog Hunting: With nearly 3000 acres of low country river bottom habitat, Collins Lowcountry Hunt Club has some of the best wild hog hunting available in the low country of South Carolina. These free range hogs have really made an impact on our lands over the past decade. Despite regular hunting and the very liberal laws our state allows, wild hogs continue to thrive and increase their numbers year after year.

Here at CLHC we have been through the commercial hog hunting learning curve! We understand after years of trial and error what it takes to consistently harvest these incredibly smart animals. Be clear, these animals are among the smartest out there and adapt to hunting pressure unlike any other game animal we have encountered. Our methods have been refined and our expectations have become in line with what we can really expect to offer day in and day out.
By utilizing over 40 automatic feeders and game cameras we have now mastered the art of hunting where the pigs are actively feeding. Be it a typical daylight outing or the very popular nighttime hunts, our guides are current on what stands have adult hogs regularly feeding. As well we are very dilligent when it comes to managing our hunting pressure at each stand site. Those that have hunted these animals know this is paramount to your success.
We offer hog hunts with all types of weapon including rifle, pistol, crossbow, compound bow, traditional archery. All hunts are conducted from elevated stands or ground blinds overlooking a feeder or shell corn spun from our baiting trucks.
Due to new legislation in South Carolina we are now able to offer any weapon nighttime hunting from Feb 1 through July 1. This is not only an excellent opportunity to take a trophy class boar but a new experience that is sure to raise the hair on your neck as you sit on stand in the dark in our South Carolina Low Country swamps. It is an experience every hunter should try.
Low Country Turkey Hunting: Our hunters will again have access to over 9,000 acres of prime turkey woods this coming spring. CLHC hunts the hunts some of the highest producing counties in the state including Bamberg, Colleton, and Hampton counties. Properties are expertly managed for maximum turkey population and gobbler numbers. We absolutely DO NOT over harvest our grounds and like our guests to ensure a trophy hunting future by passing on immature gobblers (jakes). We had plenty of long beards for you this year, and want to have plenty of long beards in the future for you as well. We feel that hunters booking a three day hunt that are willing to hunt hard with our expert guides stand an excellent chance of bagging a trophy South Carolina gobbler. Many have multiple opportunities, especially as the latter season comes in and hens go to nesting.
Also, we will again plan to give the option next spring (2013) to our hunters of trying to take a wild hog in the afternoon instead of sitting on chuffa patches. We try not to push the birds in the afternoons because we all know what that does to the birds for the next morning! Again, here at CLHC we use every resource to make your hunt the most enjoyable and successful experience possible.
