Alabama Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting with Blackwell Bend Hunting Lodge.

Blackwell Bend Hunting Lodge is located on the Alabama River in Selma AL. With Over 2,000 acres of hardwoods, planted pines and 28 planted green fields. This is Prime Trophy Deer Hunting Land Having been Bow-Hunted exclusively for more than 15 years. Combined with a strict Trophy Management Systemt in place, many 120-140 Class Deer are taken every year. During the 2008/2009 hunting season there were 2 Deer Taken that were Over 160.

   

Call early to make reservations at Blackwell Bend Hunting Lodge for the upcoming 2012 Whitetail Hunting season. Bow Hunters can book dates throughout the season, but Gun hunters need to book early since Blackwell Bend has a limit of only 5 gun hunts per season.   

                                  
All hunts can be scheduled for 3-day, 5-day or 7-days for groups of up to 8 people per hunt. Have a great summer and we hope to see you in the fall!

Hunting Season ends on a High Note for Six Hunters Blackwell Bend Hunting Lodge hosted 6 hunters for the end of the Alabama Deer Hunting Season and they all took a deer home. 2 Brothers and their 2 sons were all successful, another took a Beautiful 10-point buck and “Shine” took a nice 7-point. Happy Hunter: Jim Raines from Georgia came to Blackwell Bend Hunting Lodge with some friends on a 3-day hunt looking to take home a trophy. Little did he know his hunt would end early. In the first hour of his hunt on Jan. 21st, 2010 he spotted and took an 8-point Whitetail.  Having got what he came for and not wanting to harvest any does, his hunt was over almost before it started. Luckily he had access to some other land in the area and was able to hunt more while his friends finished up at Blackwell Bend.

I have enjoyed every one of them and have taken deer each time. It is worth my time to travel here from Oklahoma after our seasons close. The lodge is comfortable with beds, a kitchen and hot/cold water and showers and heat. Everyone there is helpful and there to have a good time. If you are after a wall hanger or maybe just want to fill the freezer, give Frank a call. I will be taking a group there in mid.
