Our attractive log lodge is a true wilderness retreat on the mountainous and densely forested Afognak Island of the Kodiak Islands Area. It is ideal for those who want the freedom of wilderness hunting by day, yet the comforts of home by night.
Your hosts/guides: Josh & Luke Randall were raised and schooled in this wilderness and have learned well. They are each Registered Guides and have their USCG licenses. Shannon Randallhas been living/hunting in and around North Afognak Island since 1968 and has been an integral part of creating and operating the lodge with her family and also has her USCG license. Hunting:The terrain in our area of Afognak is composed of lowlands and areas of up to 1,000 feet elevation, forested and non-forested and many beaches. This setting has approximate success rates of the following: about 60% for unguided and guided elk, respectively; 95% overall for Brown Bear and 100% for deer and duck. Hunters did their part in establishing these success rates by being in good physical condition.
The Kodiak Brown Bear: Kodiak Brown Bear are the world's largest carnivore due to the almost unlimited volume of salmon to feed on and have long had the respect of seasoned international hunters. There are high volumes of large Kodiak Brown Bear throughout Afognak Island's lush habitat.
Fair Chase:Is the hunting-style throughout Alaska so hunters need to be in good shape for a confident advantage. We do use warm comfortable cabin-cruisers to spot a large portion of the wildlife so those hunters who aren't as rugged as they once were also do very well on our hunts. This adds to the adventure as much more wildlife (including assorted marine-mammals) is seen, compared to sitting/glassing/hiking on a grassy hillside much of a day.

Roosevelt Elk Hunts: 6 day guided Roosevelt Elk * Roosevelt Elk Trophy fee * Guided Sitka Deer * Unguided Sitka Deer * Guided Deer/ Duck Non-Hunters Welcome for extra fee
Your Hunting Guides: Your eagle-eye guides, who've lived in the heart of this lush wilderness year-round for the past 2 - 4 decades, know every nook & cranny. They've provided many a thrilling hunt for both rifle and bow hunters, with many repeat & referred hunters who barely need an excuse to return.
