Burnt Lake Outfitters has 20 years experience hunting in our area and provides whitetail deer hunts, black bear hunts, mule deer hunts and moose hunts. With a vast area to hunt in the northern boreal forest, black bear hunters will hunt many different bait sites where there is a 2 bear limit and 40% color phase bears. Whitetail deer, mule deer and moose hunters will have opportunities to take some trophy class animals. We Hunt Alberta's Premier Area where the farmland meets the boreal forest. Hunters can enjoy many prime stand sites, great lodging and a true taste of Hunting Alberta’s Trophies.

Trophy Black Bear: B&C and P&Y bears in Alberta are legendary, bears can reach 7 ft nose to tail and 400+ lbs. We have consistent success with an average height of 6 ft on most bears. Spring bear hunting in Alberta has always produced Trophy Quality Hides. Many bears will have 6-8 inches of hair in the spring, and tend not to start rubbing until mid June. For many hunters the Color Phase Bear is the Ultimate Trophy. Our black bear hunting area has over 40% to be off color, from jet black to blondes.

                   

Hunting Methods: You can enjoy hunting with rifle, muzzle loader, cross bow or bow or any combination of these weapons.

Black Bear Camp: Located 5 hours North of Edmonton in the heart of the Boreal Forest is where Alberta’s Trophy Black Bear roam. This 3000 sq mile area has a large concentration of black bears. Hunting Alberta’s north requires a camp to accommodate any condition that may occur. We use 12x14 wall tents with air tight wood stoves to keep warm and dry during the hunt. The cook tent is run by a generator and gas stove where awesome meals are cooked daily. The shower is enclosed & heated; the washroom facilities are sheltered and clean. Staying as comfortable as possible is a priority to us, keeping the camp small allows us to offer a Great Bear Hunt.                                

                

Trophy Whitetail Deer Rut & Bow: In the Whitetail world of hunting, Alberta can only be described as World Class. Mature bucks can grow well over 300lbs. Whitetail bucks reaching the 200+ inch mark are not out of reach when hunting in our area. I consistently put hunters on mature bucks and harvesting a 150 B&C or better is excellent.

Whitetail Deer Hunting Methods: All methods used during your hunt. Ground blinds, ladder and tripod stands are used. Patience and persistence is required when hunting these Alberta Giants. I also offer spot and stalk hunts.
