Elk Hunting: With literally thousands of acres within our contained boundaries, one would never realize that they were hunting in a high fence park...and that is precisely how we intended it to be as we designed our unique trophy bull program.  You will never find anything like it, and you certainly won't feel as though you are hunting in a contained area.  Even the elk don't know the difference as they live, breed, and graze naturally in our habitat sanctuary.  Truly a once in a lifetime experience as you puruse World class monster bulls through natural canyons, dark forests, open meadows, wallows, streams & ponds.  400" + class bulls are available.

Deer Hunting: Mule Deer hunting at the Motherwell Ranch is an experience that you and your friends will value as a lifetime experience.  With more than 12,000 private acres with tightly controlled access, our valued guests are guaranteed excellent opportunities for trophy deer.  Our Colorado Ranch offers picture perfect deer habitat, therefore our herd numbers are plentiful.  180 (plus) class bucks are common with 200 class monsters hiding out just where you figured they might be. Combo hunts for both elk and mule deer are also available.  All hunts include the finest in experienced guides, luxury accommodations, and gourmet cuisine.

                   

Deer hunters are required to obtain a Unit 12 Colorado Hunting License for Mule Deer Hunting.  Please contact us for questions and assistance. While elk hunts are our apparent specialty, Colorado Deer Hunting doesn't get any better than what we have to offer at the Motherwell Ranch.

Upland Bird Hunting: Upland bird hunts at the Motherwell Ranch are the perfect combination of friendship, camaraderie, hard flying birds, good dogs, and great times!  Not to mention luxurious accommodations, gourmet cuisine, and a relaxing hunting lodge for your rest and pleasure.  Our guides are some of the most friendly and knowledgeable that you will find and our habitat terrain is ideal.

Ring necked pheasants and chukar are the primary quary while opportunities exist for a variety of grouse species.  Our upland bird hunts include unlimited harvest of game birds, excluding grouse.  Hunt areas range from pheasant habitat on the flats to classic wild chukar hideouts on the hill sides. While we would love to have you anytime, advance reservations are required.  Upland bird hunting can be added to your big game hunting experience, but we do ask that you make such arrangements in advance.

Colorado Fly Fishing: The Motherwell Ranch very well may be Colorado's finest fly fishing lodge offering an assortment of quality fishing opportunities.  Miles of private waters of the Smith Fork run through the ranch, with a unique section that has been professionally designed and maintained for quality fishing experiences.  The Ranch also boasts an abundance of other lakes and ponds that have been carefully stocked to provide the highest level of fishing habitats to ensure that your experience is a phenomenal success. Whether you enjoy our fishing opportunities as a complement to your big game hunting experience, or if you decide to plan an excursion specific to Fly Fishing...we welcome you to take advantage of our world class fisheries.

Throughout the summer season guests enjoy horseback riding, mountain biking, fly fishing, paddle boats, nature hikes, sporting clays, cattle drives, wagon rides, and chuck wagon dinners.
