We are currently working with the Disabled Sportsmen of North America. Joe Daniels, The president of the organization has partnered with us to help provide facilities to accommodate hunters with special needs. Our goal is to get everyone out in the woods hunting, regardless of their issues. Their are allot of Hunters who just cannot hunt any longer because of physical restrictions. Some of these guys are our military Men and some have been involved in accidents or suffer from MS or other crippling illnesses. We are building hydraulic lifts which will enable us to lift a 6'x8' blind 15 foot off the ground. We are also building an ATV system whereby a wheelchair hunter can drive to the stand. A custom bathroom facility is also being centrally located on our preserve. In a nutshell we want to help handicapped hunters get back outdoors. We had one hunter in particular that used to sleep eat and breath Hunting and Fishing. He was injured defending our Country and had tremendous problems getting back in the woods. His wife told me his whole outlook on life changed after he hunted with us. This is exactly what we want! Now we want to go to the next level and give the Hunter with special needs the ability to be independent. I can't imagine my life without the outdoors.
Another idea we are working on is to raffle off several hunts with ALL the proceeds to be used to offer free hunts to the hunters that do not have the resources to go hunting. Lets face it, Hunters that have been injured often times suffer financially as well. How good would it be to have your hunt paid using the funds generated by a raffle. This is where Joe Daniels is really going to help. He will be able to handle the raffles and funds generated. Those details will be worked out, the important thing is this is all under way! I am hoping other outfitters follow our lead.
