Hunt the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Located in the coastal area of western Washington state where the Olympic and Cascade Mountains are famous for their thriving game populations including Roosevelt Elk and Columbia Blacktail Deer. Our private land leases, located in areas literally infested with elk and deer, guarantee quality hunting and a memorable experience. Hunters of all ages will appreciate the ease of hunting at 500 feet in elevation from comfortable blinds or stands. Everyone is sure to enjoy the comfortable camps, tasty home cooking, and camaraderie of your guides and fellow hunters.

Fully or Semi Guided Hunts: Whether you are interested in hunting Elk or Deer, prefer to be fully guided or semi-guided, or choose to hunt with a bow, rifle, or muzzleloader, Olympic Mountain Outfitters provides hunts that meet our client’s expectations year after year. Your host, Mike Vaughn, is also a licensed taxidermist so you can leave your trophy with us to be mounted and shipped or picked up at one of the hunting and outdoor shows we attend across the country.

Elk Hunting: Archery, Rifle, Muzzloader hunts. Fully or Semi guided.
In the Pacific Northwest we offer hunts for the Roosevelt species of North American elk during rifle, muzzleloader, and archery seasons. “Rosies” are a bigger bodied animal than their relatives, the Rocky Mountain elk, with heavy antlers darkened from rubbing Douglas fir and alder trees found in their habitat. The bulls which can top 1200 pounds live in thick cover by day and use our managed fields as a regular food source early and late in the day. Hunters are guaranteed to see elk on their hunt and it’s just a matter of seeing the right one and being able to make the shot. Fully guided hunts take place from tree stands and ground blinds.

Bow Hunting: Bow hunters will appreciate the fact that not only will the bugling bulls be in the food plots but will also be in range of their 20 or 30 yard site pin as they munch on the apples Mike has been bringing in by the truckload…. literally. No more calling in bulls only to have them herd their cows in the other direction or hang up at 80 yards before winding you and bolting. Instead watch the elk move naturally to their food source and interact with each other until your shot opportunity presents itself.

Muzzleloader Hunts: Our muzzleloader season is one you’ll want to seriously consider. Taking place on the first week of October these hunts catch the tail end of the rut so the bulls are still bugling. The big boys are still with the herds and half the fun is watching the rutting activity before dropping the hammer on your bull. This is the only hunt other than archery where you can hunt elk and deer at the same time. Your guide will not only put you on stand for a great shot but he will also take care of skinning, caping, quartering, and deboning of your game so it’s ready for the processor.
After the hunt you can sit back and enjoy the home cooked meals and comfortable camp while listening to other talk about the exciting day of chasing Rosies.

Fully Guided Blacktail Deer Hunts: All Tags Guaranteed - Deer hunts take place in the lower elevations surrounding the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. This is prime Blacktail country. There are many nice bucks and there's always the chance of a true monster. Deer season starts on the 2nd Saturday in October. Instead of pressuring the deer early in the season, we wait to start hunting at the end of the month during the rut. By then the bigger bucks have located the does that have been spending their time in the food plots. The deer have been feeding on a steady diet of apples. The apples keep the deer in the area and put them in position for a solid shooting opportunity from your tree stand or ground blind.

Great Success Rate: Year after year our success rate has been near 100% on bucks! Needless to say this is some of the fastest action of the year and we frequently tag out in two days or less. Shots are at a reasonable range which makes our blacktail hunts a great chance to harvest an animal. Bring your bow, muzzleloader, or even a handgun and make the hunt an extra special memory. Deer can also be hunted during archery and muzzleloader seasons at the same time as elk for no extra charge. We have a very good rate of opportunity on the deer on those hunts too but the rut hunt is the way to go for a true quality blacktail deer hunt.

Hunting Camp: Deer and Elk Hunts include a full time cook and shower facilities and all the comforts of home. Your guide will not only put you on stand for a great shot but he will also take care of skinning, caping, quartering, and deboning of your game so it’s ready for the processor.

Other Game: Although we do not offer predator-game specific hunts you are welcome to harvest any animals for which you possess a valid tag. You may obtain your own tags from Washington State Department of Wildlife or we can obtain them for you.
