Ours is a total wilderness experience offering Canadian Big Game Hunting for Moose, Black Bear and Woodland Caribou,  upland wingshooting for Ptarmigan, hiking, Fly Fishing in Newfoundland for Atlantic Salmon and nature viewing. Our guests access modern remotely located lodges via an exhilarating helicopter  trip over an unspoiled picturesque landscape. Imagine, the nearest community is 14 miles away and is itself isolated, with no roads and outside access by boat and helicopter only.The closest road of any kind is 25 minutes away via helicopter @ 120 MPH.

                      

With the highest populations of Moose in North America, Woodland Caribou and some of the Largest Black Bears found anywhere, Newfoundland provides tremendous opportunity for big game hunters. This, coupled with the remote locations of our hunting lodges and the associated low wilderness hunting efforts, even further increases chances of bagging one of these prized trophies. Those interested in bowhunting are very welcome, as are black powder hunters. Our hunting is highly controlled, with limited numbers of permits available for each big game species in order to at least maintain existing population levels. Overall success rates at our lodges for the past ten years have been over 80% for Moose and virtually 100% for Woodland Caribou.  A very occasional and incidental hunt for bear has taken one or two per year, but they would usually be in the 400-500 pound range and the hunters involved would most likely have taken both moose and/or caribou on the same hunt as well.  In the likely event that a hunter fills his big game tags before the end of his hunt, wingshooting for Ptarmigan is available (complimentary to our big game hunters), with a pointing dog sometimes in camp for this purpose.  Our hunters are also permitted to shoot any coyotes at no extra charge.

Bow Hunting: While most outfitters tolerate bowhunters at thier lodges, we really welcome them. Over the past 10 years we have successfully guided bowhunters for both woodland caribou and moose, with all our regular guides having been involved with successful archery hunts during that period. A wise person once said there is no substitute for experience, and our guides certainly rely on the knowledge gained from past experiences with bowhunting clients to fully benefit future archery hunting clients. There is much to understand with bowhunting that is different from other hunting methods. The open terrain presents some challenges that must be tackled properly in order to afford a bowhunter opportunity to harvest one of our big game animals.  Also, the resident nature of our herds and the remote locations of our facilities, allows us to hunt directly from modern, full-service lodges, with no need for primitive spike or tent camps. Spotting of animals directly from the lodge is not only possible, but has come to be expected.

                        
One of the business owners has been largely involved with our bowhunting activities and being a successful  archery big game hunter himself for 6 years, has much more than just basic knowledge about what is required to be successful in this method of hunting our big game.   While this hunting method is quite challenging, it is  achievable, and we feel quite confident in our ability to provide excellent opportunity for a successful hunt.

FlyFishing: Our lodges on the Grey River provide some of the Finest Canadian Fly Fishing for Atlantic Salmon available anywhere.Their tremendously remote locations have helped to maintain healthy stocks of wild sea-run salmon, even in these times when runs worldwide are in a state of uncertainty. Salmon Fishing: season on Grey River runs from mid-June to late August, with our peak period usually lying from opening day through to late July.  Most of our fish are grilse in the four to six pound range, but numbers of larger eight to twelve pound salmon have been increasing slowly, but steadily since the closure of commercial salmon fishing off our coasts.
