Bear Hunting in California
|
Clavey
River Guide Service is located in the Sierra Mountains
of California. We offer an experience of high quality Bear hunting,
along with great camping, food & fun. We guarantee our hunts, and
have a high success rate of capturing Bears. With our hunts, there is
a charge only if you capture a Bear. No Bear-No Pay, except meals
& lodging.
We have 2 - 3 guides in camp with years of experience, and we have some
of the best hounds in the state. We do this so we can keep our hunts consistent
with a high quality of Bears.
We
also like to have fun at camp! We enjoy a good game of cards now and again
and share a few good stories. Many customers describe their experience
as stimulating and find excitement in the thrill of the hunt. Our goal
is to make sure you remember your hunt for a lifetime!
Color Phase Bears: Color phases for Bears are predominantly chocolate
brown, cinnamon and occasional black. Adult California Bears will average
175lbs - 250lbs, and occasionally 400lbs - 500lbs. No small Bears, sows
with cubs or cubs to be taken at anytime.

Hunting with Hounds: Hunting with the use of excellent hounds is by
far one of the most unique experiences a hunter will ever encounter. The
flurry of hounds storming down the mountainside is a sound that will always
be embedded in the memory of the hunt.
Our guides use the most up to date equipment, vehicles and the best dogs
around, so that we can provide you with the highest quality and most successful
hunt possible. Bear hunting behind Hounds, is one of the most action packed,
exhilarating hunts that you will never forget.

Getting Here: You can drive right into camp, or you can fly into the
closest airport (FRESNO) and we will pick you up.
Hunting Camp: Our campsite is in the middle of Prime Bear Country
in the Stanislaus Nation Forest where we are permitted to hunt. We can
literally start hunting right out of camp. The area is beautiful with
a variety of pine trees, redwoods and some oaks. There are many roads
leading to easier access to most Bear trees.
