Here you will discover some of nature’s most spectacular virgin landscapes.

One of the great spectacles in all of fishing is September on Ungava Peninsula for fiery red Char: Cool weather, colorful tundra, snow covered peaks, and river pools filled with Char bright enough to light a fire in your memory forever. Catching many, many Char daily in the 10 to 12 lbs range and some occasinal 15 lbs + is normal. Fishing is unlimited. We have access to many rivers and pools. Many rivers on the East Ungava Bay peninsula have never been fished.

We are the only lodge operating a daily fly-out arctic char trip on the east Ungava Bay peninsula...That provides access to more than 9000 square miles of wilderness. August and September are the prime months for big char. You would fly from Montreal by commercial air to Kuujuaq and this is included in the trip.

Many rivers have never seen a fly.

Rapid Lake Lodge is located 114 miles to the south east of Kuujjuaq and is headquarters for speckled trout and lake trout fishing and also for the spectacular Air Safari option of this great Northern wilderness. This Photo Safari is the tour for those who have ever longed to see Polar Bear in their native habitat, gigantic icebergs and towering waterfalls. In addition to the world's best Char fishing.

Arctic Char fishing clients at Barnoin River who also want to do some speckled trout or lake trout fishing then we will plan a fly-out trip to Rapid Lake "the log cabin". We will be fishing the best places for lakers on the way to Rapid Lake then speckled trout in Rapid Lake and on the way back to Barnoin River. Rapid Lake offers running water & showers in every cabin. In the event of bad weather for flying, we can boat the Barnoin River 10 miles. We fish lake trout, speckled trout, searun trout & in Sept., Char.

Since these fishing trips are daily fly-out by helicopter or float plane the seats are limited. The pilots are also your guides . The guide ratio on a helicopter group will be 1 to 4. The guide ratio on a float plane group will be 1 to 2. The guides know all the good rivers and pools. The helicopter or float plane will never leave clients alone. They stay together all day.
