Adventure Experiences, Inc.'s Base Camp is located 10,000 feet above sea level in the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains just 45 miles northeast of Gunnison, Colorado. Base camp is in prime Elk and Deer habitat. Colorado is known for having the largest elk hunting population in the world and this rugged country provides great Colorado Elk hunting opportunities. The big game area we hunt is Game Management Unit #55. Adventure Experiences offers private land hunts and operates under a special use permit from the United States Forest Service in the Gunnison National Forest.

Your Hunting Guide: Tim Kempfe, Owner & Outfitter, has been hunting and guiding this land since 1984. His expertise for living and working in the wilderness enables him to provide high quality hunting experiences. Tim is a skilled bow, black powder, and rifle hunter. Besides the many wilderness and hunting skills Tim possesses, he is also highly trained in wilderness emergency care. Tim selects professional guides with hunting ability and outdoor skills to match his own. Their goal, like Tim's, is to provide you with an unrivaled hunting experience-one to be remember and cherished for years to come.

Hunts Offered: Adventure Experiences is prepared to assist you in identifying the services you may want. We offer archery, muzzleloader, and rifle Elk, Mule Deer, and Mountain Goat hunts. Our fully guided hunt gives you the opportunity to hunt one-on-one or one-on-two with and experienced guide. The semi-guided hunt allows you to hunt on established stands on both private and public lands. We are prepared to hike with you deep into wild game habitat or to set you up in established stand sites. Our guides will ensure you of a first class hunt.




Hunting Services: Your guide, along with Adventure Experiences staff, will field dress and pack out your trophy for you. Gunnison offers quality meat processing and taxidermy services to get your trophy ready for travel. All hunts are 5 days and include a 7 day food and lodging package.Be prepared to accept the challenge of the unpredictable Rocky Mountain weather and hunt hard from dawn to dusk.

Accommodations: Home cooked meals, showers, phone, hot tub, professional and accommodating staff. Base Camp is ideally situated in the heart of the Gunnison National Forest. It has a picturesque view of the Continental Divide and a virtually untouched trout stream within its boundaries. Because of its remote location, Base Camp utilizes alternative energy systems. Log cabins are provided for all hunts complete with bunk beds and wood burning stoves.
