Kansas Whitetail Deer Hunting, Turkey Hunting, Mule Deer Hunting, Bird Hunting and Fishing.

Chisolm Trail Whitetails offers exceptional deer and turkey hunting on over 10,000 acres of prime Southwestern Kansas habitat. We have a mixture of tree-lined creeks, timber, rolling pastures, and crop land. We are located on the 3 Bar Ranch deep in the heart of Unit 16. There has been a very limited amount of deer hunting on the ranch for the past several years.

Lodging
Hunters will stay in a rustic cabin located along side a cottonwood lined creek. A comfortable living area with a fireplace and open kitchen allows you to make yourself at home. We provide 2 home-cooked meals and a light lunch.

The Hunt
We offer a wide variety of hunts for a variety of hunting styles. Tree stands and ground blinds, rattling and stalking are the primary methods of hunting. Traditional turkey hunting methods of calling from ground blinds are available during the spring season. You will be guided by experienced bowhunters who know trophy deer and what it takes to get one. We also have mule deer hunts available. There will only be 3 bowhunters in camp at a time and 2 gun hunters. All hunts begin on Thursday and run through Monday. Hunters should try to be here on Wednesday to settle in and become familiar with the area.

Non-Resident Application & License Information
All deer permits are issued on a drawing basis. Permits cost $205.50 per person. A hunting license costs $65.50 and can be purchased locally. Spring turkey permits cost $30.50 for the first and $10.50 for a second permit. Deer permit applications must be post-marked no later than May 30th. We request that anyone wishing to book a hunt with us have their applications, license fees, and deposits to us no later than May 15th so we can review and deliver them to the Wildlife and Parks office. We will be glad to help anyone in completing their applications. Please contact us for hunt information and applications. Applications can be obtained directly from the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks by calling them at (316) 672-5911.

Booking Information
Bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis. You should make your reservations well in advance. We request a 50% deposit to reserve a hunt. No hunts are booked until deposits are received. If you are unsuccessful in the deer permit drawing your deposit will be refunded. No refunds for early departure from the hunt. Licenses are not to be transferred to another person. Turkey permits can be purchased locally over the counter. No cancellation refunds will be made 30 days prior to October 1st. Balance of your hunt cost is due 30 days before your scheduled time of arrival. We will accept cashier checks or money orders.

Other Information
You may purchase 2 additional doe permits for $10.50 each. We encourage you to harvest a doe. It helps us with management of our deer herd. All hunts are fair chase hunts and will follow the regulations set aside by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks. We do not guarantee that you will harvest a deer. We will do everything possible to give you the best opportunity to do so. If you fill your tag early, you are welcome to stay and enjoy some fishing or bird hunting. For more information write us a letter or give us a call.
