Buffalo
Creek Bertie Lodge is approx. 7000 acres of beautiful
hunting country. It is flat land with slight ridges of hardwood and pine thickets
surrounded by vast tracts of cypress swamps. It contains many fields of peanuts,
which whitetail deer, black bear and other game find to be their select choice
of food. The high protein found in peanuts help to grow some of the biggest racks
available in the state of NC. The whitetail deer leave the protection of the bottom
lands to graze on peanuts and grain. Bertie
County Camp: Lodge is located in Northeast NC in Bertie County near Lewiston
- Woodville. We also hunt in Hertford County. These areas are listed at the top
in deer harvested and buck size. We have a deer herd in excess of 45 deer per
sq. mile as stated by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. All of
our land is private land. We do not hunt public land.
Meals
at Bertie Camp: We provide 3 meals per
day. Camping / Motels: Tent camping
and campers are permitted at lodge. Motels are located 20 miles from lodge. Hunters
staying at a motel must furnish transportation to the lodge each day.
The
Buffalo Creek Sampson Lodge: has been under management for 10 years. We manage
this lodge primarily for 8 point bucks or bigger. This is a great place to hunt.
75 acres of wildlife food plots along with year round feeding programs help ensure
quality game is on the property when you arrive. Many hunters seed 25 - 50 deer
a day while waiting for just the right buck to step out.
One
can only imagine with this much food supplies available that game of all types
use this property. Hogs, bobcats and small game are all abundant. This lodge is
primarily for the hunters who are willing to let small bucks walk in order to
harvest a trophy buck. We also have land in this area that is considered non-managed
land that you may hunt and harvest any deer if you wish.
Food, lodging
and guides are included in all hunts!
