Welcome
to authentic Alabama hunting in an unspoiled, family-owned setting! Whether
you’re on a corporate or personal retreat, you’ll find Quail and other
game in abundance, terrain that is managed to provide perfect cover, superlative
dogs, and staff. At Pa-Ko, hospitality has come first since the 1950s,
when Paul and Kookie Messham began to nurture their 5,000 central Alabama
acres for the hunting enjoyment of fellow industrialists and friends.
Today’s Quail, Turkey and Deer hunters still enjoy first class hunting
and true Southern Hospitality.

Upland hunts: Flighty birds, lots of action! We provide all the elements
of great Alabama Quail Hunting, plentiful coveys, exceptional dogs, plus
unlimited gunning, in an untamed setting. We’ve perfected a method of
breeding Bobwhite for release months before the season opens Oct. 1. Result:
strong, high-flying birds indistinguishable from our wild population.
Sporty Pheasants and Chukkars can be added to the hunt on request.

Meals: A leisurely lunch comes with both 1/2-day, 9a-noon or 1-4p
hunts. Most groups who stay over say the Wingshooting experience carries
right through an evening of story-trading by the fire pit too. So let
us arrange a corporate hunting package that works for your group.
Alabama Deer Hunts: There’s a reason more than 95% of Pa-Ko’s
Deer hunters return: our hunts are simply best in class. We manage our
herds to produce Trophy-size Bucks. Our knowledgeable guides work with
small groups, or 1 on 1, to assure safety and success. Our Deer limits
are as generous as it gets. Pa-Ko customizes each hunt to your level of
experience and interests. We also manage every detail of your harvest,
including preparing your Trophy for transport home.
Bow
Hunting Season: Begins mid-October. Ladder stands are placed strategically
throughout the acreage, and you can also bring your own stand and safety
belt. Pa-Ko’s shooting tower and 3-D targets provide pre-hunt practice.
We reserve 1000 of our acres exclusively for Bow Hunting.
Firearm Deer Hunting Season: Mid-November thru January. A typical
hunt is Thursday afternoon thru mid-day Sunday. We depart early and hunt
late, provide delicious meals and give you plenty of practice on our rifle
range.
Our 50 green fields, with comfortable shooting houses ensures that no
area gets over hunted.
Hunters may take one Buck and 2 Doe.
Turkey
Hunting: Guided 3 day Hunts. March - April. Paul, our founder's proprietary
method of raising and releasing thousands of Birds without allowing them
to even see a human is still in use, and producing Trophy Toms to this
day. Wild Turkey love our range of timber, ravines, and the varied crops
we plant, such as chufa, corn, millet and green cover. Hunts begin before
sunrise, break for noon brunch, and resume at 4pm. Hunters may take up
to 2 Gobblers per 3 day hunt.

Lodging: The Lodge is pure Old South simplicity. You’ll enjoy down-home
dining, evening gatherings around our hearth or outdoor fire pit, trading
stories at our fully stocked bar or over a game of pool. Everyone leaves
well-fed and remarking about our famous peanut brittle. That last piece
of pie will be served by our legendary cook, just one of many staff you’ll
know on a first-name basis. For business or pleasure, this is your Alabama
hunting lodge.

Guest Cabins: newly constructed to provide modern convenience in
an Old South setting. Private baths and Wi-Fi access come with each. Additional
housing, designed for the needs of families or groups, includes a 2 bedroom
suite and a Stag House with its own TV lounge. We can arrange a configuration
that works best for your corporate hunting retreat.
Additional Services: All the conveniences you’ll need have been
integrated seamlessly at Pa-Ko.
Purchase your Alabama hunting license, if needed, at our reception area,
and pick up any gear you might need in our Pro Shop.
