Wolf River Outfitters is located in Hiawatha, Kansas, in the northeast corner of the state. Just 15 miles south of Nebraska and 35 miles west of Missouri, Hiawatha is a rural farming community. We offer Whitetail Deer and Eastern Turkey hunting trips in Kansas.

Wolf River Outfitters is a quality outfitter that treats it's clients they way we would want to be treated. The owner and employees of WRO are all hunters and have been for a long time. We enjoy the outdoors and are trying to preserve and conserve our resources so they can be enjoyed for a long time.



The Way We Hunt: Our most productive type of hunting has been stand hunting. We have several shooting towers and lots of comfortable tree stands. We put these in areas where the Deer like to travel. They are fully enclosed to give you maximum protection from the elements. The tree stands are located in travel and bedding areas where Dear activity is highest. We also have areas set aside for those who prefer to still hunt, or spot and stalk. Both of these methods can result in a successful hunt.



About Our Deer Hunts: Kansas has a good strain of Whitetail, a good food supply of corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa. Add a good measure of habitat,we have great cover and protection for the Deer. Add to that low hunting pressure (0.5 hunters per square mile). That is the Kansas formula for Trophy Deer. We have many acres of quality private land available to hunt. We make every effort to increase the number of Trophy bucks. We plant food plots where needed, and keep mineral pits fresh. We also limit the number of hunters that we take. In addition, we harvest a number of Does each year to manage the Buck-to-Doe ratio.

Whitetail Deer Rifle Hunts: 5-Day fully-guided outings. We provide all meals, lodging, tree stands, shooting towers, packing out, field-dressing and packaging for transport. We will also deliver your deer to the locker plant. If you were born after July 1, 1957 you must have a valid hunters safety card in your possession. We would love to have you come and hunt with us. We make every effort to make this be your "hunt of a lifetime".

Whitetail Deer Archery Hunts: Self-guided, 6-day hunts. We provide lodging, tree stands and will assist in packing out the game. You must purchase the necessary permits and licenses. If you were born after July 1, 1957 you must have a valid hunters safety card in your possession.

Whitetail Deer Muzzleloader Hunts: Semi-guided 6-day hunts. We provide lodging, tree stands, cooking facilities, packing out of deer, maps, ID cards,etc. Stands will be set up in prime areas before you arrive or you may move them if desired. In-line rifles may be used. Iron sights can be fiber optic. No scopes allowed except 1X Power.

Eastern Turkey Hunts: 3 day semi-guided hunts. We have large populations of birds that have minimal hunting pressure and are seldom call shy. Most of our Deer Hunters couldn't wait to come back and have a crack at the Turkeys. We have many good flocks of Turkey. We provide lodging, cooking facilities, maps, ID cards and stickers. This is an excellent time to scout for Deer season. You must purchase the necessary permits or licenses. You will have an excellent time bagging a trophy.


Hunting Guides: Jim has assembled a group of guides that are 2nd to none.
-- Tom Johansen is a lifelong hunter. He is very knowledgeable, considerate and a real pleasure for the hunters to be with. He hunts with every weapon.
-- Evans Woehlecke is Chief of Police for Hiawatha, KS. He is a lifelong hunter. He is the cook for the noon meals in the east rifle camp.
-- Tony French is also a computer programer and guide for WRO. Tony and owner/manager Jim Aller grew up together and were in the same class at school.
-- PJ Aller, 22, grew up learning the ropes around his Dad and the other guides. He he started his own construction business in the local area, and is the manager of Upland Game and Predator Hunting.
