Streater Outfitters is located in Northeastern New Mexico. We hunt only on private ranches with private landowner permits where we have the exclusive hunting rights. We are managing the ranches for a long term success. We are not over hunting and have had near 100% oppertunity at good mature animals . We look forward to many years of great hunting and many trophy animals. I and feel that with the private ranches , knowledge , and guides that we have, we can show you a great , fun , and successful hunt. We hunt elk during the closing stages of the rut in New Mexico, the first two weeks of October. This makes for some of the most exciting hunting you can have with a rifle.


All hunts include guide, meals, lodging and care of game. Hunts are 1 guide for every 2 hunters. Arrangements can be made to ship your meat and trophies. 50% Non-Refundable deposit required. Balance due upon arrival (cash or cashiers check)

Trophy Pronghorn Antelope Hunts: We hunt excelent ranches with lots of Mature Bucks. We have 100% opportunity on big bucks, some in the Boone and Crockett class. The terrain is rolling praire, and hunting is usually spot and stalk.

Trophy Rocky Mountain Elk Hunts: We will be hunting the rut. Bulls are mature, averaging 6/6, 300 Boone & Crockett with a realistic chance of taking bulls in the 350 class. The terrain is rolling pine, piñon, cedar, and oak with some canyons and hay meadows. Elevation is 6,500 - 7,000 ft. We watch meadows, feeding areas, water holes and crossings. We also use bugles and cow calls to call the Bulls to us or get their locations for a stalk. The Bulls will be bugleing. We hunt only early mornings and late afternoons. We do not hunt during mid-day so as not to disturb the Elk.


Trophy Mule Deer Hunt: We hunt Mature Bucks scoring 150-196 Boone & Crockett. The terrain is rolling cedar and oak. We mostly hunt canyon and rimrock type of country. The elevation is around 6,000 ft. We do most of our hunting by spot and stalk. All of our hunting is done on private land with guaranteed landowner permits (No draw). We have over 75,000 acres of good Deer country. Accommodations will be a nice bunk house style hunting lodge on one of the ranches. It has most all the comforts of home, in a beautiful location. We are hunting 2x1. There is an additional for fee for 1x1.


Booking Policies: To book your hunt: Hunts are booked on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are held no longer than twelve (12) days without a deposit. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required. Balance is due upon arrival (cash or cashiers check). Upon receiving your deposit, we will send you a confirmation packet and contract. Travel Commercial air travel is into Albuquerque, NM. Auto rental is availiable there. If you are driving, schedule your arrival no sooner than 1 P.M. the day before the hunt. All hunters depart the morning after the last day of their hunt.



Hunt Policies: We enforce the wounded animal policy. If you draw blood, it's yours. We do not allow alcohol consumption while hunting.
Included: lodging, meals, field transportation, guiding, handling of game, linen and towels.
Not Included: we do not provide alchoholic beverages, guns, ammo, bows or personal effects. Hunters are responsible for hunting licences and gratuities. Gratuities are customary to guides.
