Muskingum Country Outfitters offers 100% fair chase hunts located in the best county in the state of Ohio for trophy size bucks. It is our goal to provide you with the best opportunity to harvest a big mature Whitetail Deer, and Muskingum County is legendary for trophy bucks.
We are located in Dresden Ohio. Dresden is approximately 55 miles east of Columbus, 9 miles north of Zanesville, and 20 miles west of Coshocton.

Hunting Property: Your whitetail hunt will take place on private land that we lease and manage. You will hunt from our tree stands and use our safety equipment.

The Hunt: Muskingum Country Outfitters does not guarantee that you will kill a big buck. Our deer are free roaming without fences. Big bucks are smart, so we only hunt certain areas when the wind and timing is right. That way we can keep our stands scent free and the deer stay unalarmed.

The best time to harvest a big buck is late October and all of November, but do not discard early October when the deer are relaxed and unpressured. We also offer late season muzzleloader & bow hunts. In late season the deer have returned back to the food sources that help them make it through the winter and become more patternable. We are a small hunting outfit, we only take 2 - 4 hunters a week to ensure a quality hunt.

Hunting Stands: Our tree stands average 18-25 ft high depending on terrain and situation. We also offer natural ground blinds. If you can use a tree climber, it will benefit you & increase your odds during the rut, as bucks are prone to move & change patterns quickly. Our tree stands are rated at 300lbs.

Hunting Packages: We offer 2 types of hunting packages. Most hunts are 5 days. We also offer a 2 day youth hunt, 4 day muzzleloader, and a 3 day late season bow hunt.

5 Day All Inclusive Hunt: stay at our cabin, 2-4 person occupancy, meals & transportation to and from hunting areas are included. Your meals will start with a continental breakfast, sandwich combo meal for lunch, and a hearty home cooked meal for supper. If you have any dietary concerns please make them known before your arrival.

5 Day Guided Hunt: We understand that some hunters want more control of there surroundings when out of the woods. For those hunters we provide a list of motels and hotels located in nearby Zanesville ( hotel fees are not included in pricing). We provide a lunch combo, however breakfast & supper are on you. Also, depending on where we are hunting that day, you may need to drive to a rendezvous point, and then we will provide your transportation from there. If you are staying without a vehicle, a $25 / day fee applies for transportation.

Safety: We take our hunting and safety seriously! Hunters must comply with all Ohio rules and regulations. To purchase an Ohio hunting license you must do one of the following:

1) Present a previously held hunting license, or
2) Present evidence of having successfully completed a hunter education coarse from any state, or
3) Swear that you are 21 yrs of age or older & have previously held a hunting license from any state.

* A non-resident license costs $125 and can be purchased on line at www.ohiodnr.com, or any Wal-Mart. We do offer transportation to and from the Columbus airport at $75 per round trip.
* Alcohol and Intoxication are prohibited on property and failure to cooperate will result in your forfeiting that day s hunt with no refund. This a must!
* No smoking in cabin or tree stands.

Lodging: If you are booking our all inclusive hunt, our cabin is comfortably equipped for 2 to 4 people. We have bathroom and shower facilities, and Direct TV. There is a Nextel phone tower up the hill, so reception is great. If you need to use our phone, we provide 1 call per evening after 7:00 pm.

When booking a guided hunt or the late season bow hunt, we offer a list of motels / hotels in nearby Zanesville. When making reservations mention you will be hunting at the Muskingum Country Outfitters to receive a discount.
