Tanglewood Guides was established in the early 1900's by Ross E. Smith, as a sheep and cattle ranch. Today, it is run by family members dedicated to maintaining it and it's wildlife in their natural state which is excellent habitat for Mule Deer, Whitetail, and upland game birds, not to mention bear and tons of coyotes. We would like to extend a personal invitation to come and visit our fifth generation ranch and hunting preserve. Whether you are interested in bagging mule deer, pheasant, quail, hungarian partridge, or chuckar, opportunities abound.




Location: We are in North Central Washington, just south of the Canadian Border, nestled in the scenic foothills of the Cascade Mountains. From the sage brush covered semi-arid valley floor to the pine forests of the Cascade foothills, you will experience multiple hunting environments. Come and spend some time hunting and enjoying this unique historic ranch and shooting preserve.




Upland Game Hunts: Pheasant - Ring necked rooster, Chukar/Quail. No license required on preserve. The pheasant reserve is open year round. Hunter orange is required. Limited number of buff and dark colored pheasants available. 50% non-refundable deposit required on all hunts. Call ahead for best scheduling options. Whitetail, Mule Deer, Black Bear, Turkey Hunts: Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer and Black Bear Hunts are 4 day hunts. Bunkhouse style lodging, transportation to and from hunting area included. Bunkhouse style lodging, transportation to and from hunting area included. Turkey hunts are 3 day hunts. Lodging, transportation to and from hunting area included. Predator hunts (Coyotes) are 1 day-unlimited bag.



Hunting Dogs: Not only have we devoted ourselves to quality hunting & horses but to the canine companions who complete the sport.
